Guns N' Rose
Other common mistakes: Axl Rose (not Axel); Duff McKagan (not MacKagan); Snakepit (not Snake Pit)
3.) Do you have a picture of the wedding dress in November Rain? Where can I buy the same dress
This is a question I never expected to receive, yet people ask me that all the time! All I can tell you is to visit this site: www.mygnr.com/non-members/november_rain_wedding_dress.html
4.) Will GNR ever get back together?
Another million dollar question! Of course I don't know, but the way things are looking right now, I say no. There is still some important tensions between Axl and Slash, and it doesn't seem to get better. In 2000 Axl banned Slash from attending his concert in Vegas. More recently, Slash and Duff are suing Axl. So they are far from coming back together. However Izzy seem to get along well with the rest of the boys (except Axl). Duff, Slash and Matt obviously get along since they're in the same band Velvet revolver! Steven Adler's biggest wish it to see the Appetite line-up reuniting.
5a.) Why does the girl die in the "November Rain" video?
The short answer is that she commited suicide, shooting herself in the face with a gun (you can only see half her face in the coffin in the video). Why did she kill herself? That, I don't know. This video is based on a story found in a book written by a friend of Axl (Del James). The story title is "Without You" and the book's title is "The Language of Fear." I didn't read it, I don't have it, and honestly, from what I heard from people who read it, I'm not really interested to read it.
5b.) Where can I buy "the language of fear"?
Ebay.com is your best bet. This book is out of print.
6.) Where does Axl (or Slash) live? Can I see their house?
They both live in the Los Angeles area but their home addresses is not of your business, they have a right to privacy. (Same thing apply for their phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) Anyway, Axl's house is not visible from the road so there is no point to go there. If you want to see Axl's house, watch the "Estranged" video, it was filmed in Axl's actual house.
7.) Why did Izzy leave Guns N' Roses?
Izzy left GNR near the end of 1991, just after the first part of a world tour and after the album release, when GNR were the kings of the world. Obviously he was not happy anymore in the band. He wanted to work on a solo career and also he was now sober and being around a bunch of drug and alcohol users was not something he wanted. Did you know that Izzy returned with GNR for a few shows in 1993? He accepted to fill in for an injured Gilby Clarke. Izzy was one of the main songwritter in GNR with Axl and Slash, many people believe GNR started to die when Izzy left. There is some true in that: GNR never recorded original material after Izzy left.
8.) Did Guns N' Roses really cover "Dust in the wind" by Kansas? Where can I find it?
NO, GNR never covered that song. They did cover a song called "Dust in the wind" but it's not at all the same song. Axl played it on piano as an introduction to November Rain during the Use Your Illusion tour (first time was in 1992). Consult the bootleg section (CDs) to find out some of the shows where it has been played.
9.) Is Axl Rose a racist? Is GNR a homophobic band?
This whole controversy is just stupid. It all started with the release of the song "One in a million" in which Axl Rose used the words "niggers" and "faggots". First of all, if Axl was a racist person, I doubt he would have been in a band with a guy who is half black (Slash) and I doubt he would hire a black guy as a bodyguard for over 10 years. Let's face it seriously, the words nigger and faggots are just deragotary words to refer to "bad" black of homosexuals. Everybody knows that some black people are just idiots, and those can be called niggers. Other black people are very nice and they are not niggers. Same things for all races, there are many idiots who are white or asian (and there are bad words to describe them) but there are also many great white and asian people. This whole controversy is just laughable and was publicized by politically correct people with a broomstick up their ass. And if you think GNR is anti-gay, just look at the current line-up of the band! (just kidding)
